Connecting to server via SSH

This guide will show you how to use an SSH client to connect to a server.

SSH allows you to manage your account/servers.

For Windows users

  1. Download and install Putty https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html
  2. Open the Putty application
  3. Enter your server's hostname and press Open
  4. Enter username (typically root) and your password
  5. Perform desired commands

For MacOS users

  1. Launch Terminal using Spotlight
  2. Type 'ssh [email protected]' (typically root is your username)
  3. Perform desired commands.
